Can i use mbox 2 with garageband

A trip to the Genius Bar led to downloading a core audio driver. The selected signal bar starts registering a regular, loud, red-lining metalic beeping sound, and at this point the issue remains whether or not I change the audio setting back.

They've tried several audio drivers at the Apple Store and nothing is working. Avid requires you to buy support codes, which is ridiculous, so any help on this forum would be extremely appreciated. Veritas Gold Supporting Member. Messages 3, Are you on Pro-Tools 8? One of my buddies uses one with a Macbook Pro on Snow Leopard with no problem I didn't install Pro Tools nor Logic. You can't use an mbox unless Pro-Tools is loaded on the machine. That's how digidesign made it. Unless the mbox sees the Pro-Tools drivers, the computer won't work with it, even if you're trying to use it with Garageband or Logic.

The computer will recognize that it's there, but the software won't interface with it. It works this way on a pc or a mac. How did you end up with an mbox and not have pro-tools? The standard way of achieving this is by owning PT which is what's supposed to be packaged with your mbox anyway.
