Hi Amit, You are absoultely right, the Tata Nano is indeed a great revolutionary car and deserves a second chance in India.

Hey there, Absolutely not we are in no intention to defame Tata Motors or any of their offerings. The points listed both the articles are sourced from our customer database. Hey Jamiluddin, The points listed in the article are from our customer feedback. Please be aware that in no way we are trying to de fame Tata Motors or Tata Nano. This post is misleading and ruining the image of the car. I have a Nano for past 10 years and did not replace any of the part like clutch, pwer windows neither faced any issues stated above.

I am also member of a forum where Nano owners are there and all of them said that these issue does not exist as a common issue and depends on how you are driving the car and maintaining it. These issues are common issues for a Mercedes to a Maruti. Why are you highlighting this specifically for Tata Nano and ruining the image.

This car is a wonder. Why dont you write a good post on how affordable the car is and build quality they proved after being in service for nearly 11years and still on like new. I feel it is due to these type of post an innovative product failed and a company lost his dream. Even a bike has more maintenance cost than a Nano. Hey Avishek, We are glad that you and your Nano are having a great time. The points listed in the article are sourced from our customer feedback.

We at GoMechanic absolutely love the Tata Nano and what it stands for. GoMechanic always for VocalForLocal. All nonsense. Join some nano owners group on social media then only you can understand performance of Tata Nano. Hi, The points listed in the article are sourced from our customer feedback. Tata Nano is a very versatile vehicle and surely deserves a comeback. Please do not post fake articles for such a lovely car.

Unfortunately you are spoiling your own reputation. Do some good research first and then blog. Hey, Our customer feedback is the sole source for the article. That said, Tata Nano was indeed a versatile vehicle that allowed even an average Indian to buy a vehicle. You are bull shitting Mr. Just to earn few bucks you greed has taken the evil route. Else I would have sold my car. Take down this post immediately.

Hi Santosh, Glad to know that you and your Tata Nano are taking good care of each other. We assure you that non of our articles are or never will be paid to spread hatred or malice.

I used Nano car appx 4 years. I never found any problem you mentioned. Some Improvement is required. Well, well, well. I was about to use service of this firm for my next nano service but reading this article I can surely say these guys has no clue about the car.

There are common problems in the car but above not the ones mentioned above. I am a proud owner of Nano Twist Never faced any problems mentioned in the article. In fact, AC is so powerful than any premium cars, power steering can be managed by finger tips, seat height ensure straight legs, accommodating 5 passengers like bigger ones easily, gave 27 km p h. The only two problems i faced are, suspension on poor road conditions, and other readings on speedo meter. It was made in keeping mine Indian people income.

I have Nano XTA model. I have experienced horn problem after 3 year. I felt fog lamp front casing damage quickly. Sometimes in running it will be missed. Now a days I used to put additional adhesive fevi quick in the fog lamp case and now it is better.

After 5 years now experience AMT malfunctioning issues. One time replaced the AMT motor. After kms running again the issue reported and car is on service center. One of the Tata dealer service center demand 70K to fix the issue. So I given in a differentTata authorised service centre and they said they will replace AMT motor under warranty and still issue persist they will change TCU.

Hence the existence of extreme sports, like bungee jumping, driving a Nano at kmph etc etc. As someone pointed out its a perfect recipe for disaster. People tend to think a car moving at or high speeds is the capability of that car. No, there is nothing special in it, even a cc bike can go that fast. The important thing is how it can handle at those speeds the important thing is braking, forget the normal brakes, it cannot handle the sudden deceleration from that speeds, it will FLY esp if it is equipped with disc brakes.

Me too gets overtaken by Nano near Belur. I floored my i10, then after reaching 60kmh I swallowed my pride and let him go. My wife would have been spitting butterflies and fire had I continued. The following BHPian Thanks batterylow for this useful post: zalaps.

A Chandigarh registered Nano with alloys kept me company for a good part of my drive on NH-1 a while back. Of course it could not match with the initial acceleration of my swift diesel but as I would keep my speed between kmph it would catch up and at times overtake also in about seconds no kidding!

It looked like being driven by a driver going by the outlook. Though he wasn't rash or anything but he was flooring the pedal at every chance he got. I thought he would slow down at the diversions but he was taking the diversions at kmph just like I was and I thought he was going to topple but he didn't, don't know how. There was this one time when I overtook a truck and had to go down the road a little.

I could never imagine the Nano driver doing it because there was a sharp turn ahead but he tagged along and while I had ample space to make the turn after overtaking he almost pulled a stunt doing that the only time one could call him rash. Having said that, I think Indian highways are very unpredictable and while all the Nanos can go do kmph but I'll still be scared in doing anything above kmph on our highway these days. In fact even kmph is scary at certain stretches.

My defensive driving has made me very very cautious. The following 3 BHPians Thank fine69 for this useful post: ashishmathur14, phynix, rajeev k. I have driven the Nano quite a bit on highways, personally I feel it handles better than my dads Wagon R. Originally Posted by honeybee. Due to the tall stance, there is a very high probability of toppling over at high speeds when you need to make an urgent swerve maneuver.

I felt this first hand myself in Pune City. I was travelling to Shivaji Nagar via Holkar bridge and i was driving at 60 - 70 Km speed.

As i reached the turn-of towards Shivaji Nagar, I suddenly noticed that there was a cyclist in front of me. Braking hard i swerved left hard left and for a moment i felt the car sway badly as if about to topple. Post that incident I've been keeping my speed down to 65 max. Buffeting on the expressway is another dangerous feature, especially when you are in the middle lane and heavy vehicles overtake you from both the other lanes.

So in case of speeds excess Km, there is all possibility of getting dragged into the other lane. The Nano is very well capable of tackling the Indian highways, provided you drive sedately. Is it stong? Yes, sort of. Cannot crawl always and hinder traffic from behind, at the same time keep a tab on all your surroundings front-rear-left-right-rampexit-rampentry and prempt how safe would you be in a collision.

Defensive is the key word, any intersection, entry point to a roadside hotel, exit from a fuel pump is asking for a T-Boned impact, there are million examples and stories from Tbhp accidents thread. I have been using Nano and Indica. I usually drive Indica at and Nano at since the cars appear to cruise along at that speed and there is no strain on the engine. I have driven nano at close to kmph but when I saw the speedometer I slowed down to Nano is a light car and if you are driving it on a highway, I suggest that you drive windows rolled up and this applies to any car.

This will prevent the shaking of the car when heavy vehicles like Volvo buses overtake you. Overall Nano is a very capable car and as pointed out by many, the brakes, being drum, will not let you stop the car without travelling a lot of distance. The car comfortable cruises with 4 adults. I have also done Mumbai - Pune via old road NH4 to test Nano's capability and on the ghat, Nano, fully loaded , was very much at ease. Fully loaded is 4 adults and lot of luggage in the boot and everywhere in the car.

Spacewise, Nano is slightly less than Indica but I am sure it will but several hatchbacks red faced. Having said that, you will see lot of "educated illiterates" on highways who drive even on the wrong side at kmph causing serious danger to others.

I think if we can take today's average driver then most of the cars are driver well above the safety limits.

Just today i was crusing along the M-P Expressway and a Figo overtook me at speeds which would not be safe in a figo.
