Which is better b18b1 or b18a1

Want to know the difference? The camshafts. They put better ones in the up ones. The head is exactly the same and so is the bottom end. I believe they started in or for sure with better camshafts. That is why you will see the sudden jump and it still be a b18a1. Basically thinking about building an engine as I have found a few junkyards with some really cheap prices on things IYO hows the B20 series of motors stand up agenst boost?

Racing is kinda an all around racing kinda thing, not really set on one type of racing. I want to hit a time attack someday. I dont want a sohc motor. I just dont like them. I need an all around turbo setup but when I do need some top end. I want to try targa and top end and reliablity with an all around even ness thru out the rest of the gears.

You're also going to need to get a hydro B-series transmission or you're going to have to buy a kit to use a cable transmission. How bad are NYC emissions testing? I'm in Syracuse and we only test OBD2 cars here '96 and newer. If they do a bunch of visual testing, you might have to get a '94 or newer B18B1 and ecu.
